1.5 lbs boneless, skinless chicken thighs or breasts
Salt & pepper to taste
1 tsp garlic powder
1 tsp onion powder
1/2 tsp paprika
1 tbsp olive oil or butter
1 small onion, diced
3 garlic cloves, minced
2 tbsp flour
1 ½ cups chicken broth
1 cup heavy cream or milk
1/2 cup shredded cheddar or parmesan (optional)
Salt and pepper to taste
2 cups cooked white or brown rice
Optional: chopped parsley for garnish
Instructions
Season & Cook Chicken: Season chicken with garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, salt, and pepper. Sear in a skillet with olive oil until golden and cooked through (about 6–8 minutes per side). Remove and set aside.
Make Sauce: In the same pan, sauté onions and garlic. Stir in flour and cook 1 minute. Slowly whisk in broth, then cream. Simmer until thickened.
Smother Chicken: Return chicken to the pan. Let simmer in sauce for 5–10 minutes. Add cheese if desired.
Serve: Spoon over warm rice and garnish with parsley.
