Ingredients
  

  • 1.5 lbs boneless, skinless chicken thighs or breasts
  • Salt & pepper to taste
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • 1/2 tsp paprika
  • 1 tbsp olive oil or butter
  • 1 small onion, diced
  • 3 garlic cloves, minced
  • 2 tbsp flour
  • 1 ½ cups chicken broth
  • 1 cup heavy cream or milk
  • 1/2 cup shredded cheddar or parmesan (optional)
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 2 cups cooked white or brown rice
  • Optional: chopped parsley for garnish

Instructions
 

  • Season & Cook Chicken: Season chicken with garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, salt, and pepper. Sear in a skillet with olive oil until golden and cooked through (about 6–8 minutes per side). Remove and set aside.
  • Make Sauce: In the same pan, sauté onions and garlic. Stir in flour and cook 1 minute. Slowly whisk in broth, then cream. Simmer until thickened.
  • Smother Chicken: Return chicken to the pan. Let simmer in sauce for 5–10 minutes. Add cheese if desired.
  • Serve: Spoon over warm rice and garnish with parsley.
